Xenon Bulbs Info

  1. #1
Ive searched 4 ages and was wondering

What kind of bulbs do i need 2 have the brighter shine from my headlights (Xenon).....cos i dislike the yellow glow from my headlights lol. Ive read loads of stuff about H1 and H4 bulbs but which bulbs do i actually need? And what does H1 and them lot mean

    Thanks, Dan

Do you have standard headlights? I think they are H4 fitment if they are.

There are several different "xenon" blubs on the market - the ones I found to give a true white light are the Ultra ones on sale at Rimstyle.

Are H4s for the main beam or sidelights? Ye ive got standard head lights but thinking of upgrading in a month or so too some Ultra black headlights, wiil they take the same bulbs as the standard headlights cos there pretty much the same light lol

    right.

H4 is the TYPE of bulb you will need for you dipped AND main mean as the one bulb does both.

Your side light bulbs are "501" bulbs, you can also get these in a Xenon white

Your fog/spot lights are H1 bulbs, you can aslo, liek the others, get these in Xenon.

Alot of people rate the NIGHTBREAKERS, i think its phillips which do them.

i personaly go for higher wattage bulbs, but they are illegal, but thats a risk i take (no problems yet)

    Hope that info has helped

That is a bit of a contradiction there. Take a H4 gas filled filament much past a yellow ish white colour and it will just start to get duller and duller the further from that colour you get. Same sort of thing is true with gas discharge lights. There most efficient colour is that used in those orange street lights. Hence why they use them as they give of so much light for so little power, some are is little as 18W yet still shell out plenty of light. The whiter you make them the duller they get. If you want a bright bulb to get more light go for a yellow or yellow ish white colour depending on the bulb type.

Also agree with sanchez89 and Saxo_89 Osram and Philips do some great car bulbs that give off plenty of good quality light and are very well made.

it's just a matter of getting the clip of the back of the light case and then revoving this grey rubber sock which will let you get access to the bulb. fiddle about with it for a bit and it will come loose. put the new bulb in ( taking care not to touch glass of the bulb ) replace the sock, cover and clip and your done. 10 minuite job

was thinking about getting the phillips blue ones myself
