Wheel Offsets, VTS Wheel width, can someone check?

Just after a quick answer, offset of a VTS wheel?
And how wide are they? Going of a GTI6 Cyclone to be 6J I will hazard a guess at that.

I know the Saxo takes ET15-20 wheels.

I am looking at buying some with ET40.

They are 15x7J, so 'ideally' need 25mm spacers, but is it possible to get away with only 20mm? Or will they be sat too far into the arches?

    http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

This link tells me that, with with a 6J and ET15 standard wheel to a 7J and ET40 new wheel...

Inner Clearance: 38mm LESS (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing)

Outer Position: RETRACT by 12mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel)

If I change the ET40, to ET20 (20mm spacers, am I correct in doing this?) it says that there is 18mm less INNER clearance, and 8mm extra OUTER position.

With ET15, 25mm spacers, it says 13mm less INNER and 13mm extra OUTER.

What would be the best bet?

    Thanks.

read that. you may understand it better.

you cant have any less space on the inside of the arch. the wheel just wont go on.

basically you need 25mm spacers to get those wheels to fit.

they will still rub with 20mm spacers

I did read that, that is where I got the link from.

The only additional width is down to the wider wheel it seems, 25mm spacers still give an overhang (round the brake discs) of 13mm.

no because standard vts wheels are 15x7 et15

you cant have read it properly as it does explain everything you have asked

Sorry, I was going on the fact that I thought VTS wheels would be 6. I find it hard to believe they are 7. Sorry.

    vts are 15x7
    vtr are 14x6

also saxo offset is 15-18 not 15-20

you need to be accurate when looking at fitting wheels. that extra 2mm can mean the difference between them fitting perfectly or rubbing.

I found 15-20 on an alloy wheel fitament guide online.

So say I need 25mm spacers then, bolt on are the best.. where to buy them from? every site lists different brands stating different things!

Just searching ebay, and this one seems to say 6J btw. I cant see them being an inch wider than the 306 wheels, which is for a bigger car. I was shocked at the Cyclones only being 6J personally.

sorry, you'll have to find them yourself. i cant be arsed to look for them.

pretty sure vts wheels are 7j. not certain though as i've never owned any.

standard saxo fitment is 15x7 et15-18 so just go by that and they will fit.

The same as the Kei ones on POTN but include the rings and all bolts I think.

If anyone has a VTS wheel off the car, can you see what the width is at all?

jus went on the drive wiv the measurin tape, looks like the man speaks the truth , is 7" wide with the tire on
  13. #13
Well I had 195/50/15s fitted to both Cyclones (6") and my Artecs (7")

Just need someone to have a look on the inside of the rim?
  14. #14
are you sure cyclones are 6j?

    could they be 7j?

    195/50/15 would buldge a lot on a 6j wheel.
  15. #15
    6.5 actually.

    Too many fuckin numbers.

EDIT. Someone has checked a cyclone and that IS 6"!! So I guess they are the same, anyone got a set off the car to look at?

    Woop, definitive proof. Thankyou.

But I had a major breakthrough whilst pondering over this, regardless of wheel size the part which scrubs is the tyre, and I will be using the same width tyre on both, 195....
