check your alternator belt is on tight if so check for loose wires if its still happening take it to an autoelectrition they can check the voltage the alt is givin out or your battery might av had it....as for the burnin your either ridin clutch or something has gone in the gearbox...

same thing happend to mine... the way it kept cutting out while was driving, had to get my dad to jump start it a few times, but it was that the alternator belt snapped... didn't cost much to repair get it dropped of ya local garage, mine was there half a day and was fixed, =D

Bad habit resting it on the clutch. It's annoying there's no footrest in the Saxo... I just put mine on the floor.

My clutch plate whet, i luckely made it to my local garage. I slightly had my foot on the accelerator but the revs wer going up like mad, dont think it would be that, you would no if ya clutch was at its end lol Could be altornator if its cutting out, but if youraltonater was at fault your car would then run off ya battery and drain that. Have you played around with any pipes that lead from or off your throttle body? when i fitted my induction kit i snapped the pipe that is connected to the throttle body to the rocker head breather. Once this had snapped my revs went up by themself, and i drove around like this on the same day for a while when buying the new part what i had snapt. When i fixed it my car kept cutting out, i was lost! so i thort i'd disconect the battery for 10 minits to see if the ECU would correct its self, it turns out it did hasnt cut out no more. only cut out when i wasnt giving it and throttle. Just check altonater, and pipes and connectors that lead to throttle body, i dont no if it could be a lambder sencer on the exhaust giving false information to ECU.....???????? GOOD LUCK LOL ....And dont ride ya clutch or keep ya foot against it lol

To check the alternator start the car and switch EVERYTHING electrical on window wipes, stereo, lights etc and then put a multimeter across the battery and it should read no lower than 12.5v if it does alternator is gone. Was told this by citroen when my car wouldnt start.
