Headwork on a turbo'd engine?

    If i was to send a head off to qep or hiflowheads, would i benefit much from having the head ported/polished, gasflowed, and having larger valves fitted??

    Bearing in mind, that im running a turbo, will it be worth doing?

    Depends what sort of BHP your looking to gain from it to justify weather or not its worth the £.

    I have heard bad things about hiflow heads, bad workmanship and customer service etc so i personaly wouldnt spend any money with them. QEP/GMC/Longmans for cylinder head work.

    A well ported big valve head will certainly give you more power though

    dont get it done by hi flow heads, heard only bad things and unrealistic power figures, and its personal opinion on what power wether the gains you may get are worth it.

    Been quoted £600 + vat for a stage 4 head, ported polised and gasflowed head with 1mm larger forged exhaust valves.

    Is this expensive and do you think it would be worthwhile going for?

    You can ignore all the rumours about hiflow heads tbh dude, everyone has 'heard' stuff and yet no one knows a single person who has used them? Funny that.

    For a true representation of their work you can ask people like Toad, Williamsvts, leeroybrown who have had dealings with them and all more than happy with the results. IIRC the bad rep came from 1 job and seems to have snowballed.

    i used hi flow heads , they were great towards what i wanted , always keeping in touch. happy with resultss
