Saxo lock barrel replacement!!! Help anyone???

   Hi guys, bought a little 1.1 saxo, and unfortunately lock (barrel) doesn't work on drivers side now (from the outside) as someone has tried 2 break into it :-| The key will go into the lock as normal, but it will not turn at all. So when I want to lock it, I have to get out, close the door, walk round to passenger side, open passenger door, stretch over and tap the lock down!! It is really annoying. However, I've bought a new replacement door lock set (including lock barrel), and just wondered if anyone has any ideas on how to fit it?? and is it a simple job?? I've got the tools, but just want to know the difficulty and time scale??

   It will take about a day to be safe.
   You need to remove the interior door cards (there is a how to guide on here - use the search function).
   the locks unbolt from the outer edge of the door and can be twisted out.
   Twist in the new locks and refit the fiddly rods.
   
   Nows a good time to de-pin the car too and improve security on your Saxo.
   
   Then just refit the door cards

   oooh ok, well do you think a fair beginner - intermediate like myself will be able to do it with help of a haynes manual?? and i prosume the door cards are removed via the 2 torx screws, and then just unclipped gradually as you run your finger from the bottom edge all the way round yes???

   Yeah you should be fine.
   Hardest bit is the locks.
   
   I would say, go to a scrappy and practice on a car there with door cards already raped

   can any one explain how to de_pin the mark two saxos and once done what can and cant i do with locks. Is having it de pinned dependant on the central locking or can the car still be locked with the key ?
