Changing Gearknob

    Have bought a 'Universal Fit' Gear Knob from Halfords and after some serious tugging, got me original kob off. (Ooh er)

    Now, there is a white plastic part on the actual gear lever. Does that need to come off too, and if so, how?

    This new knob does not fit atm, even when using one of the adaptors that came with it.

    Any ideas?

    if you want the new one to fit.. you'll have to cut the white bit off to fit it.

    But before you do have you thought about putting a 106 leather gear knob on.. really nice.

    It just once you cut it off if you ever wanted to put it back to standard you have to replace the whole rod which can be quite fiddly if you don't know what you're doing.
