    hi all,
i have just come back from oulton park after havin a blast round oulton in my vts. it was awesome but my brakes got to hot and faded after about 5 laps. i also runnin 161 brake on standard brakes so they are 'shit' to be fair.
i need some advice about what to do. i have got badly worn brembo's on the rear which help on track but they need changing obviously.
currently - standard front - brembo rear. i no shit setup but i am a student
so........... please help - wot do i do??
what brakes on front - and should i put the rear back to standard.
so i run - brembo front standard rear??
    whats the common idea?
also, on the front what do i need to buy to upgrade from standard?
i need everythin probs, calipers/pads, what else do i need Hoses/new master cylinder etc, i really dont have a clue when it comes to upgradin brakes because i am poor , but it needs to be done i think.

Finally was anyone at oulton today was a nice day fot it .

just because they are brembo pads dont mean they are very high spec. if they are fast road pads they wont be to hardcore to leave on the rear.

see the threads atm about 266v 283mm etc... plenty of reading for you.

How much would you be looking at to get brakes from my setup to yours? btw, whats your local track? i never see saxos on track anywhere.

    brands hatch is my local.

I cant be arsed to travel far when I have that 15mins up the road.

Depends how well you can find discs and calipers from a scrappy, pads are £70-100 depending on types

I have never driven brands, i really dont like the short circuit, it looks so borin. Do they do the full circuit for trackdays? i just looked at ya car. how much was the roll cage?, i need one to also is it a weld or bolt in.

the indy circuit isnt boring, ive done 2 days there in 3months, theres many different lines to play with and lots of different cambers.

the GP circuit is only used a few times a year £325-350ish iirc.

cage is an omp one, I have an SD one going in thats £850 new and needs box sections welded in to bolt to, no cages are just bolt in now unless you get an OLD omp one.

Its just to short for me. do you have r888's. Do you reckon tyres give the best advantage on track. Why dont ya run slicks? (i no they wreck ya car but r888 cant be that different)? i was followin a type r today on slicks and he battered me through the bends, i had no chance. i am runnin budget tyres at the mo all different makes. im cool

No point in full slicks when I can drive there and back on the R888s, also there are not alot of 15" slicks available in suitable widths and im not running gay sized wheels.

No point in slicks/R888s if the suspension isnt up to dealing with it, grip roll can be ffing dangerous.

how much were the r888's. i may purchase some . i use my car regularly though so is the wear bad? did you do track time at fcs? where u the fastest there.

I dont do shows, they dont interest me in the slightest.

R888s are £60 a corner plus fitting, or if you want some vts wheels i have some part worns on them for £300

I dont use the saxo as a daily, however I wouldnt have R888s on a daily either, I have wet and dry wheels for the saxo, as R888s are shit in mega wet conditions

they dont interest me either. i see amps and subs as added weight lol. i dont see the point. i have got compomotives so would have the r888 on them. if i got to a trackday and it was wet i would cry and go home.

how many trackdays could ya do on r888?
