Hi, just wondering if i can get some advice or if anyone has had the same problem. I have recently bought a citreon VTS from a friend. He took it off the road cause there was a knocking sound coming from the engine. Does anyone know what this could be? I thought perhaps the barings but now im not so sure. It gets louder the higher and harder you drive the car.

#5Sounds like the bottom end..From what i have read and experienced these engines are very strong indeed and bottom end problems are very rare..
Did he ever run it low on oil? -
#6As far as i know the lad who had the car before me really looked after it. It had been driven hard for a while but during one point it seemed to be over-reving and then the knocking started. IM still driving it, but only once or twice a week to keep battery powered up.
