Help replacing drums

  1. #1
Hi, after cross threading the threads on the hub I am going to replace the drum myself. Can you tell me if I am doing it right and is there anything to look out for:

    1.jack car
    2.remove bolts
    3.remove wheel
    4.remove cap on hub
5.take out bolt (think its 30mm)
    6. Pull out hub??
    7. Put in new hub????

    Thankyou

What you exactly asking? how you do it? you jus said then, when you put the new drums on check the shoes have life on them, and that the clyinders arent leaking. Rough the shoes up with a bit of course sandpaper and spray some brake cleaner on the shoes handbrake leaver etc, if the drums wer hard to get off, back the adjuster off alittle and put your new drums on, i allways use a tad of bearing grease on the stub axel, and if th drums slide on easy enough and spin then take them back off and flick the adjuster a little more, and re-fit the drum, if its hard to get on or is causing alot of resistance or at worst locking the drum take it back off and back it adjuster off a little till there is a small ammount of friction but are still able to move the drum easy enough if thake makes sense.

    Hope it helps.
