ABP Motorsport lowering...

    i am soon getting my VTR lowered, and i am looking at this place, its the closest to me, looks like a good professional company, torsion bar lowering from £100, al do the front myself. Anyone else been here? is £100 a lot?

    and how far down should i go? 40mm or 60mm, could someone give me a link to the big picture thread of lowered ones please?

    i'd just get them to do the lot, me and my mate had a bash at mine this weekend and struggled, both not to bad with the spanners but it was a pain especially the back end which was a ball ache. ended up paying my mate who owns the garage to finish it off. NEVER AGAIN. ive/he dropped mine 40mm and it looks sweet, dont know what it handles like due to the snow.

    anyone else? and no mate am just gonna lower it myself, done it loads of times before on my older cars, just the torsion bar i cant do lol

    Be careful because depending on how seized up your torsion bar is he may charge you more than £100

    Thats why I chose Chris to do mine + hes very experienced.

    are they always seized? av heard some quite bad sotries of seized ones. would 50mm on back and 40mm on front look good? any pics?

    Torsion bars that have been left alone are usually seized, they are exposed to the elements.

    As for ABP i have been there twice, both my saxo's were lowered by them and the service is brilliant, they lowered it just exactly how i said i wanted it and even offered to drive me somewhere to get some dinner.

    Cant remember how much i payed, think it was something like £150 to do the front and the back with the suspension i provided. It isnt cheap i suppose however it did take them 4-5 hours both times including a lunch break, basically the whole morning and just a finish up after lunch.

    I would definitely go back there should i ever need it doing again.

    thanks mate, looks like al be going there, how far should i go down on the back? i am thinking 40mm on the front, but what about the back? 50mm? 60mm? any pics please would be V helpful.

    You want to go level mate so if your lowering 40mm at the front, go 40mm at the rear.

    Either that or go all out bad boy if you like more at the rear. Something amazing like 40mm front and then 90-100mm at the rear for that ultimate speed boat look.

    Ofcourse i am only joking the second time round and this would indeed cause all sorts of problems for your rear beam and understeer would become much the normality.

    if your going 40 front go 40 on the back, unless your into the boot full of lead look. you would need to replace the shockers if you was going to go 100 on the back for sure.

    my mate bought a vts of someone off here and that was approx 100 on the back on standard shocks, it was in the garage for a few days getting the back end rebuilt. not the best idea.

    Abp is pritty good bud!! had my other saxo lowered there!! but i can lower saxo"s myself now.......so i make ££££....

    Ive got the old abp cover car and it runs a beaut!
    I'd recommend them. lot of good lads work there
