does the manifold increase performance?

#2Just the manifold? Nothing noticable.
-
#3it should do with a full exhaust system i think.
-
#4it will increase performance but with just manifold ytou would not notice alot, a full exhaust would compliment it nicely and give good gains, i gained 13.3 bhp from a manifold and full exhaust on my mk1 vtr and a good difference in response too
if your going to get a manifold look into a full exhaust if you havent all ready got one
hope this helps mate -
#5the simple answer is that a good performance manifold will make a big difference. Most of the tuning of exhaust gases is done here. The remainder of the exhaust routes the gases, silences the noise and therefore robs the power

#6you gained 13.3bhp with just an exhaust sysem and a manifold? i think someones not telling the truth, got an RR graph to prove? because that figure seems very very high, normally i would of expected 4-6bhp.Quote:it will increase performance but with just manifold ytou would not notice alot, a full exhaust would compliment it nicely and give good gains, i gained 13.3 bhp from a manifold and full exhaust on my mk1 vtr and a good difference in response too

#7Can be done dude, although I would of though he had an induction too. If you search for 'Snewham', he had a 1.1 60bhp standard, RR'd at 75.8bhp(something like that anyway) with supersprint 4-2-1, race centre and magnum backbox iirc. Also had a green filter as well I think. Still a bloody good result thoughQuote:you gained 13.3bhp with just an exhaust sysem and a manifold? i think someones not telling the truth, got an RR graph to prove? because that figure seems very very high, normally i would of expected 4-6bhp.

.yep i gained that, all i had on my car was an open filter, raceland manifold and supersprint race system less the silencer, and it had just had a full service a week before and it made 103.1bhp on the rolling road with graph to proove, so i put wrong figure down in my first post lol but was only off by 0.2bhp hahaQuote:you gained 13.3bhp with just an exhaust sysem and a manifold? i think someones not telling the truth, got an RR graph to prove? because that figure seems very very high, normally i would of expected 4-6bhp.
it made 75.5bhp atw and 135.6nm which i think is like 101 or 102 ftlb of torque
was a good figure made i was only expectin 100bhp if that, but still all rollers are different aswell, but this output would have only been a few bhp off maybe if it was offcause it seems farily reasonable
i could get the graph on here if you want but i dont know how lol -
#926% increase in power just by breathing mods?Quote:Can be done dude, although I would of though he had an induction too. #11sounds like it was run in 1st gear
