Milltek sports cat manifold

  1. #1
Under neath is just a pasted description from the CI tuning website for the Milltek sports cat manifold for saxo vtr 2001>

Stainless steel 4 branch manifold incorporating 'Sport' cat. It has been designed for Saxo 8v 2001> models with twin lambda sensors. Giving you the option to release that extra power! Less restrictive than the standard cat but it will still pass an MOT. Approx 10 BHP increase! Please Note: The 'Sport Cats' used in our manifolds are made by HJS in Germany, precious metal type, 200 CPSi.

    My questions to anyone are:

    10bhp???? Really?

Does anyone have this who can vouch for the gain?

Is it worth the extra over one of these in the link below?

    Thanks.

The milltek manifold is £395 and the janspeed is about £250 on saxp discount.

So another £150 really. If the milltek does give an extra 10bhp then OMG WOW bud how does this differ to that of the Janspeed.

janspeed is mild steel but quality os good to. Miltek is well built but for the price and minimal difference go for the janspeed save yourself that 150 and get some other stuff for the car like induction braces etc if you aint already

10bhp increase from it? is that not being a bit generous?

    Yeh good points.

At the moment i have the supersprint race centre and race backbox with green panel filter and seems to be very responsive tbh. But i know the manifold will make a difference its just sooooo obvious lol.

Also have B8's with eibachs, upper and lower braces (the lower at 50mm is fine everyone btw just got to watch where your going if you dont know the area) and a 266mm setup with hoses.

Seems to be all good, thinking of the spencer vts porting and polishing of throttle body soon too.

    Any other ideas?

150 could get a 2nd hand cam plus some other bits to do the cam swap

Some of the newman cams are quite cheap right? Ideally i would want one that could work with oem internals but WOULD need a map too so i sort of get the best of both.

tbh mate if you want to do it cheap then kent or piper will regrind a standard VTR cam to 270 spec for £100 doesnt need remap either than one

Really? How would i go about doing this? Would have to send it to them or?

Also i really tbh would prefer to run a cam that needed a map but didnt need uprated internals. Would be going in a well serviced 2001 plate 98bhp vtr engine with 60k on it.

What lift can i run without uprating internals but with map?

    Thanks again.

I had one of these on my vtr, and no you dont get +10bhp. I had the miltek, a full magnex system, a bmc and when i had my rolling roaded i made 107bhp and 119flb torque. It was the torque increase that i was very happy with. Plus you will pass an MOT with it, and its a work of art tbh, but you have to ask your self if it warrents the extra money over say the janspeed for example...many will say no...but i had deep pockets at the time lol
