  1. #1
currently looking at a full new set of tyres for my saxo and just need to know what is the maximum tyre width which can be used on a vtr rim?

    i am unsure...

had a look through the section and faq's and saw nothing...

    cheers all....

on a vtr they run 185/55/14 iirc

if you go wider you need to drop the profile size and for what you gain in width isnt nessecerily more grip
just get decent tyres in the right size

195/45s are a good upgrade, probably have to declare to insurance though.

thanks both of you, that is helpful... i fancied getting the 195-45 so if they fit on my rim they will be what i am getting....

    cheers lads...

these are the ones which i am considering mainly....

    http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/produc...TOY1955015T1-R

    with the 195,45,14,77v

    would these be good enough?

or would you recommend another tyre? i just fancy getting a nice set of tyres on my car as my michelin pilot sports are running low and i fancy a change...

    cheers...

T1Rs are definitely not the best tyre money can buy, but for 14" wheels you're hardly spoilt for choice!
And they are cheap, so you can't go too wrong really. Yes 195/45 is no problem on vtr alloys.

how would this work then, would the lower profile stretch the tread onto the sidewall a bit? seen wide tyres on narrower alloys and they looked silly
