After defrosting my car this morning and clearing the snow off it, I tried to pull away and the rear brakes were stuck. The passenger side brake became un-stuck but the drivers side didn't want to come loose. What I think may have happened is that the brake pad is frozen to the disk as I washed my car yesterday and then it froze soon after. I don't have any sort of heater I could use to heat up the brake, and I can't jack the car up as it's lowered, and to jack it up I would first need to run it onto a piece of wood to raise it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to get it going?
Frozen brakes?

#2id suggest rocking it back and forth to see if you can loosen it up at all or the other option is to pour warm water over the disc

#3Ice will break before metal......
just move it lol -
#4The rear drivers side has been doing it on my car aswell lol.

#5mine does it if i leave my car for a few days, rear pads stick to the disk, just move of gently and it will come apart, may make a thud but it will be ok

#6Got it! It does it quite often but usually comes off when I start moving, but I didn't want to try too hard incase something broke! But as pointed out, that's a stupid thought as metal is stronger than ice lol! Thanks!
