#2not a good idea mate, it gets soaked and when you hit a ford or big puddle the intake takes a huge gulp of water, and fills the enging with it.
this happened to me, its not a good idea.
but id go with 2" anyway -
#3cheers mate, i dont live are generally go anywhere the there is any fords and the rain doesnt really get that bad that puddles would be that bad, its going behind the bumper but will be above and poiting down overwith a 90% elbow directing the air flow into it, done the same with my megane and it was by far the best method out of numerous things tried,
-
#4well on saxos mate, no one has it, so id be coming to the conclusion that its not that greater idea.
like i said its very dangerous, and only takes one puddle.
also noise is greatly reduces the point of none, as the pipe is so long. -
#5made my meganes louder but obv its a diff car usually does go quieter though which is what i couldnt get my head round, i understand what your saying m8 and cheers for the advice, going to giv it a try though, will be making sure its not in direct contact with anywhere that may take in water seriously so should be ok, ill make a thread when its all sorted if i see good gains

#7have been thinking of modifing the front bumper to a widemouth and meshing it then making a custom ram air type scoop to go behind the mesh along the bottom infront of the radiator( obviously have to not block the air to the radiator) and either go round or under radiator to filter and back to tb as my mother works at a window and doors company that has a vacuum former and plenty of spare unformed door panel plastic about, may look into that

#8are you talking about putting the actual filter in the foglight recess? if so then i wish your car good by. Only put the ducting there.
-
#9blackie, honestly mate, i did the near exact same thing your on about, it didnt help the engine, it didnt make any sound, it didnt increase power. and it nearly cost me and engine when it got filled with water
the most popular system is the green/Rland enclosed, this has been proven time and time again to be one of the best fitting and performing induction kits.
if it was good to have it in the situation you mention, there would be products like that on the market.
ive been there, i know its fun to do, play about, i was the same, but the money i wasted pissing about with induction kits that all did nothing to the car was amazing
so im jsut offering my advice here. -
#10no mate the filter wont be going in the recess thats a bad idea as when it rains or whatever water will go straight into the filter and fuck me engine big style,
-
#11and don, its not major customising etc, its jus something that will be quite similar to the raceland enclosure but will fit in a better place if you get me, maybe down the side of the radiator or something to get a more direct cold air feed, also already have the green filter and probs enough pipework to do the latter, eg side of radiator, and 1 of the lads could make up what i need on a sat morn shift for nothing, but i do understand what your sayin m8, its nice to know that there is people who will offer real genuine advice, i really appreciate that
