dodgy brakes

my vts which has been laid up for over a year and had various bits changed has developed spongy brakes now im finaly using it.

if i pump the pedal it comes upto to its natural biting point but soon returns half way to the floor, also if i jam the brakes hard enough the car pulls sharp to the left.

ive had the garage bleed the brakes once and they seem'd ok but i only drive it once and it sat for another month before i drove it again.

im guessing its the master cylinder but wanted to check if any of you guys had simular experiance so im not wasting money chasing a problem.

    thanks pete

the seals might have perished inside the mc?

Maybe would need nes discs n pads after being laid up for that long tbh.

    could be the mc seals

the pulling to one side could be a stiking caliper
clean up and grease the sliders may help
also make sure there no rust left on one surface of the disks

if te brakes are spongy and loads of travel on the first push on the pedal and then if u release and press again straight after the biting point is higher? It means theres air in the system or a leak, most probably through a perished seal somewhere if youve already had them bled and its returned, The MC is made so that if one brake line fails, you can pump the brakes and the calipers on the opposite side of the car will stil work., it works off opposites, so if its pulling to the left then thats the caliper thats working, which means the fault should be on the front right line or rear left. Thats what ive gathered from the haynes manual neways. hope this helps

cheers guys i think it is mc goin by what ur saying, its spongy first push then more firm for a min after. ill change it and rebleed the system hope it stops being uneven. the disks have cleaned up as new so wont be changing them just yet.
