#3i would imagine its something to do with ecu if for some reason its been restricted. Get it remapped should sort it.
-
#4ah. in seriousness. what does a remap actually do? its it just for the ECU?
-
#5how has it been restricted?
-
#6You have a VTR thats restricted to 60mph...... i take it you didn't know this when you bought it?!
-
#7Keep it like that imo, will save you some points hahah
-
#8now he tels us he has 26" rims and wonders why it wont pull in 5th

the one on the left is the speedo, the one on the right is the revs.
do you find your speed goes back down every time you change gear? -
#10serious answer - make sure your back box hasnt disintegrated, if it has and the wadding's blocking the hole, then that'll be why.
-
#11I think your first answer is the right one to be honest!! Surely he must mean de-restrict the rev limit.Quote:serious answer - make sure your back box hasnt disintegrated, if it has and the wadding's blocking the hole, then that'll be why.
Never heard of a car being restricted before! Apart from British Gas vans -
#14Its normal if the rev counter goes down as you change gear, because when you change gear your foot is off the throttle, so theres no revs to show!! lol.
If you think your cars restricted mate, then take it to your garage and see what they can do. I wouldnt mention the rev counter to them though, they will laugh at you.

#16when my back box disintegrated on my ka, couldnt get above about 30mphQuote:I think your first answer is the right one to be honest!! Surely he must mean de-restrict the rev limit.

get it checked out if it tops out -
#17yeah it could be a problem with the cat, had a simular problem on an old fiesta
-
#18Timing?
Had an astra that the timing belt jumped. It idled normally, but wouldnt rev over 2k and wouldn't do over 30mph.
Or has it had a 'ped conversion? -
#19speed shouldnt decrease when u change gear, you just wont be accelerating and its only for a short amount of time, MAybe its something to do with your brakes, Does it get to 60 quite quickly or does it struggle? If its struggling to get to 60 then its a problem with the car. could be brakes box clutch airfilter..... If it rags it to 60 then the power goes its been tampered with and is rev limited.
