Suspension Kits

  1. #1
Hey, I want to lower my car (cos it fully standard and on stilts).

I want to buy a kit that wont compromise the ride comfort (i know that really hard to do though) and thats affordable but not cheap and nasty.

Ive been looking at a SPAX VSX Suspension Kit thats about £200.

I wanted to know if anybody has this kit and what they think of it?

    Cheers, Dan

i had that kit in my old 1.1

    i quite liked it
never had a standard weight car so dont know how it was for ride with the weight on
but in a stripped out car it was pretty damn good for handeling

Spax tend to be quite harsh on the ride, but give good handling. The higher quality kit you buy the better the ride.

If comfort is a concern, I'd go for the PSX which is 28 point adjustable front and rear. On fully soft all round, you can get a ride which is nigh on the comfort of standard dampers. I have mine set on 8 clicks from fully soft all round and it's a good compromise.

Spax are quite harsh at slow speeds, I find that on the m-way it's alot more comfortable than standard. However I'm only running spax up front and waiting for the rear to be sorted... but what I've felt so far is good

Aparently Koni are more comfortable than spax, but can't really help you there.
