Which Bosch calipers are these? *now with pics*

Ive done a search and red the "pad guide" but Im still unsure - the calipers I have came off a 51 plate 206 GTi :-

    54 Bosch / 204A / 0204Y0 / 1216

Not sure what type calipers these are as there seems to be 3 types?

266mm? They look the same as mine mate. You seem to be missing some clips to hold the pads in though?

They are post-1999 so when you come to buy discs, make sure they are the ones with the larger offset.

Wont the clips come with the new pads?
Which pads have you got? Ive looked at the pad guide but cant figure out which ones I need

On second thought, you're right - the pads probably do come with those clips. Mine are just normal motor factors ones... work fine for me, haha. As long as they are for a 206 GTI (138bhp) 1999 onwards then they should be fine.

    From this list

    Which pads do I need?

99% sure you want the '266mm with Bosch calipers type 2' pads. That's what my pads look like anyway.

Found these OMP pads on the bay, dunno if they're as good as a set of Mintex though. The description is a bit screwed up, but judging by the title they're the right ones.

On a side note, have the carriers been grinded so they don't foul the hub? Mine were already done but if they're fresh off a car, you might need to break the grinder out.

Dont think they have been grinded - does the carrier need grinding then, as I thought these were a straight fit.

Thanks for all the advice LeeumH

The carrier will most likely need grinding mate. If you PM williamsvts, he might be able to show you what parts need doing.

DusheR: They fit under VTR wheels no bother - even with weights on the inside.

Hmm, figures like as it's rounded where those square clips would normally be.

I take it he needs pads for the Bosch type 3 calipers from this list?

i thought it was the lucas caliper that needed grinding not the bosch...?

Think your right LeeumH - I did a little more research on these and came up with this

    http://www.saxosportsclub.com/Forums...5/credits.html

which seems to confirm that the pads are the "type 3" from the list you mentioned.

Does anyone know the part number for the slider seal kit for this caliper?
