Accelerator problem

  1. #1
Got my car back from the garage today after having a Service, Cam belt & some 283's brakes on...

All is good, but it feels like my accelerator is half way down. Like i've got half travel on the pedal

Seems strange! I've not had anything to do the accelerator/pedal etc.

The car does rev fine, but you have to floor it fully if you know what i mean.

Anyone know what this is? Can it be adjusted?

    Cheers

How does it idle? Throttle clip might be too far up...

Idle's fine. Same as usual i think anyway

Na if it was the clip it would idle at about 1500 - 2000 revs so im stumped sorry

this hsa just happened to mine. ANYONE??

Throttle cables probably a bit slack, happened to mine when i got my injectors done. Just whack some mole grips on the end of the cable, loosen the screw, then pull the cable so it's tighter and do the screw back up.

In the bay, will be at top right of rocker cover, if you can't see it get someone to rev the engine while you're looking under the bonnet and you'll see it opening the throttle body. Once you've located it it will be obvious what i meant in my post above

The outer sleave sometimes get pulled through into the car and can cause the pedal to drop
