Rear Axle Help?

  1. #1
    Hi Guys,

    I hope you can help me as I don't have a clue when it comes to suspension stuff.

    I had 2 new tyres fitted on the front yesterday and at the same time I had everything realigned as the tyres I was having replaced has only lasted 6,000 miles due to the tracking that some pikeys had done. Anyways, the place I took it is a specalist in a Vehicle Alignment and it's all done using computers and cameras.

    I got a sheet at the end and the front should be between the following on the TOE.

    MAX = -1.10mm MIN = -2.80mm

    Mine was = -9mm so it was quite out.

    The REAR AXLE is my main concern though. I was told it's a solid axle before therefore, won't go the same way as Saxos in terms of wheels rubbing and needing new axle. The quoted figures for rear axle are...

    MAX = 6.80mm MIN = 5.10mm

    Mine was = 3.4mm

    Which is out but the guy said it's okay and not too much to worry about. With it been a solid axle, you can't adjust the tracking on it? He said it looks like it's took a knock at somepoint in it's life.

    Do I have to be concerned? Tyres seem to wearing evenly and have been on 10k nearly.

    Cheers.

    Luke
