most of the pressed plated on the market will also get you in trouble

i had/ have a smaller plate on my s16 and never had any bother for it
have an (almost) standered rear one on

this is now 3 years old
    much has changed

anything not 100% road legal will probably be more hassle than it's worth in terms of getting pulled and/or fined consistently!

Where can you get french pressed plates from?
  8. #8
mate was fined 30 quid last week for french plates, think before you buy

All plates except standard will be pounced upon from April when the new law comes in, companies can't even sell non-standard plates in the UK anymore because of this

Stick to standard unless you're parked up at a show/cruise mate

Number plates with the F logo are illegal

been pulled and fined for plates on both my bikes and cars... ive had enough now, they wil screw you over for anything these days, if the plate isnt 100% legal, dont risk it any more!

my letters were 2mm shortend and i was scrwed over many times
my pressed french plates got me shite too! ... if your car is before 2002 all you need is the Reg Mark, u dont need the name or addy of printer or the Kite mark.
looks smart to have a pressed plate with just the reg filling it, if you want anything other than standered that would be your best bet!

pretty sure they're not, didn't most cars and bikes have pressed plates before plastic ones came out? they can't make it illegal to have something that's already been sold legally!

is it not only the ones with 'f' on that are illegal? you can get pressed ones with no side badge or a GB with a reflective serface and im sure these are legal ovs maybe wrong

Yeah agree'd! police raped me for my plates! .. had them for about two weeks! .. 3 fines in that time!, decided call it a day! now have pressed plates..

    sorry for shameful pic!

the fact they are white on black rather than the other way around wouldnt of helped you
then you have the fact they are small

black and white plates are omly legal on cars registered pre 1972.

the old style of\pressed plates and alot of those presently on the market arent reflective which is why they are illegal

    Nope it was wonky.

Think the velcro was still wet when I put it back on after cleaning. Hence the droopyness. Kind of like that womans face in the Stroke advert.
