Just finished fitting mine to my VTR. Its one off Kam racing! Wouldn't say theres a great performance gain as its only as quick as u can drop and lift the clutch, but for feel..., its tightened it up no end and feels great!

Got one on my car - the one from KAM and love it lol, can be a pain to fit as peebee says. Had to take the heatshield off the bottom of the car. Worth the hastle though imo

do you have to cut all of the lower console up around the gear stick? I really want one but want to be able to fit the lower console around it

    bump !!

As far as i can remember you only have to take the heatshield off the bottom and saw off the nylon ball on the gearstick. As far as fitting the center console onto it...can be done but you have to make up a bracket some how to fix it.

I have one, its ok, certainly shortens the throw but the linnkages need replacing now.

U had to do what? Bloody hell!

All i did was remove centre console, dismantle gear stick, grind off knob as couldn't get original off, cut away the existing ball joint then fitted it together. Bought a nice shiny knob from Halfs to finish it off! Crome one, really finished it off well too!

The gearstick hit the heatshield under my car, so i took it off lol, only that one section though.

if it sounds like too much butchering to fit a quickshift that goes inside the car where your gear lever is, you can also get a bracket type that goes in the engine bay onto one of the gearbox linkages, making the linkage longer. this has the same effect of shortening the gearchange throw. mine was a ge quickshift i think, £22 off ebay.

KAM has got a guide on how to fit the comp quickshift. Have a look. Easy job and worth it

Kam if you read this, dont get one wrong, love the product now its fitted, but as your site says "Full instructions are provided with each Compbrake quickshift kit" thought it was a bit strange that mine never came with any sort of instruction! Just had the quick shift and 2 grub scew holders in bubble wrap, boxed up!

you dont have to take the heat sheild off to fit it mate just raise the gear lever. mine went on without any problems also cut the gear lever down for better throw you can really tell the difference. as for the linkages i wouldnt bother yeah they are good when they are fitted with the quickshift but you will find that putting the linkages on aswell will after time f**k the syncro's in your gear box. just keep your standard linkages on. the standard ones have the rubber cushions on it but the ones you can but from where ever dont have the rubber cushions and in time start breaking things mate.

imo just go for the quick shift mate which is fairly easy to fit took me 15mins to fit and what a difference mate they are very good for the value. you can pick them up from kamracing for around 52quid inc V.A.T and postage mate.

    well worth getting mate

quickshifts are for people who carnt change gear quick enough as it is tbh...

plus they arent really necessary on road cars in my opinion
