help my saxo is over revving to 3000

   hi, i was wondering if anyone can help. I have a citreon saxo 1.4 w reg and when im driving along every now n again it will over rev to 3000 for a while then nearly cut out, all the lights on the dash board will flash n the car dosent seem to want to do anything. then it will take at least 10 attempts to start again or will start if its left for ten mins or so. thanks

   Check engine bay for dirty sensors, could also be your idle control valve playing up - get a new one for ~ 30 quid

   try also unplugging battery and leaving for 10mins for ecu to reset
