Tyres for 14" Rims

  1. #1
My VTS is on the standard 14" wheels - and I need to keep them.

What tyres work? Technically it's 185/55-14.

I wanted Toyo T1Rs but they only come as 195/55-14. Will they fit? I have heard rumours they may rub and catch inside the wheel arch.

Would I be better going for something in the 'right' size (185/55-14)?

Thanks for replying. Do you use any spacers or anything on the wheel?

    195/45/14 is the best size

I've got 185/50/14 on the front atm!

I've got a full set of avon zv3's on mine, good quality rubber tbh, and quite grippy in the wet shockingly. However mine rub.. but that's down to it being a flat arch

another question, is there any lower profile tyres that are decent for vtr rims? im wanting something like 185/45/14's ?

I was told 195/55-14 T1Rs could rub on the inside of the rear arches - has anyone with these tyres noticed this at all?

Well that was the point in the thread - finding out if they would fit! Currently I have 185/55.

Seems the 195/55s will fit on the wheels - but someone told me Saxos are a touch tight for space in the rear wheel arch and 195s may catch inside. Don't know if this is a myth or not.

Seems unlikly an extra cm would cause problems?

Just to make sure - on the standard issue 14" alloys (Mk1 VTS) 195/55-14 tyres will fit with no rubbing or other side effects?

If they will work I'll order some Toyo T1Rs!
