Gauging interest - Rear wiper blanks

  1. #1
    hello,

i'm looking at producing rear wiper blanks.

they will basically be a shaped plastic disk which you seal/bond into place from the inside of the glass.

i'm looking to sell them for £5 each including delivery

if i can get a list of 10 people who would be interested, then i will get them made. i dont want payment yet. i just want to see if there's enough interest first before i get the mould made etc.

    they will look like this:

although i hope to get the finish a bit more shiney so they look more like glass. i used a clear sealant on mine. it may look better with a black sealant such as tigerseal.

if there's is enough interest, i should be able to get the first lot made within a few weeks.

    thanks,
    curran

    thats fair enough.

lots of people do remove them though.

personally i think it looks a million times better than a grommet which is what most people use when de-wipering.

£5 seems to expensive for a small circle of plastic imo.

£1.59 for a grommit that can be sealed in aswell

    £5 for a clear version...

    grommits fine

    Hey Curran,

Usually people just whack in a grommet because they're as tight as a camels arse in a sandstorm tbh and cannot be bothered to spend £5 on the proper dewipering bits.

Although peugeot ceased to supply the dewipering parts themselves people still dont seem to know or realise that citroen do still supply the exact same parts which come off the AX model.

Ive posted up all 3 part numbers before and they came to less than £5

Obviously with them being parts that are hardly ever ordered there is usually a weeks back order.

On the plus side though what you're offering does look very neat and tidy and is certainly more appealing than the basic grommets that people buy.

    Best of luck

does look neater mate, think you should lower the price a tad though then more people will most likley be intrested

grommits are flexible rubber. sealing in a grommit wouldnt really help, it will still be flexible and can be pushed through easily.

what i'm offering is solid plastic.

would people be more interested at £4?

i would need to check the prices carefully though. if i lower the price too much it wont be worth my time.
