If it's got a vts engine in it all you have to do is swap just then engine itself.

as above its just the engine, and ecu that needs to be swapped

Raunchz - I think he means he's bought a tuned engine to replace his stock one, and the new ECU is mapped to match the engine, so not just a case of swapping the engine out from under the loom...

you need to take the immobiliser control unit from the new engine and keep it matched with the new ECU.

because work out the price of newman ph3's, remap by chipwizards running 160.1 bhp, manifold, and then labour plus i have sold my engine for 280 quid therefore it comes to 300 and labour is only costing me 150 quid plus VAT...... whats cheaper then buddy?!

cheers for the help guys, its still playing on my mind but they start the swap tomozz so we will see what happens, if i have to send the ecu off to bluehawk then so be it but i was thinking if i change the locking barrels then surely that should wrk because the immobiliser works through the ecu and i have the fob and key for that, very confused lol

Sorry I completely misunderstood it - I'll learn to read!!

Iirc (liam08 can confirm) you'll need the black immobiliser box too. I'd also be careful about sending it off as Bluehawk might 'wipe' the Ecu. When I sent mine off they ran checks on it and reflashed without an Immobiliser, hence unlocking it.

You could try it with the key and barrel with the mapped Ecu but with the black box unplugged.

k cheers buddy, wheres the black box located?

It's under the passenger side dash, right up the back by the top. Is fiddly to get out.

Just a thought but the rallye might not have one already!

it has got a aftermarket alarm and immobiliser on it

i rang bluehawk today and they said they can unlock the ecu without effecting the mapping on it so if worst comes to worst then thats how i will do it unless there is a better way

I'd try and start it up, and if need be send it off the bluehawk - probably the best way.

yeh thats what i will do just trying to see what the best thing to do if it wont start cos it will obviously be something to do with the ecu
