universal air filter

   my mate keeps goin on about this universa airfilter he got from halfords basicy took his air filter out and attached the new one to the intake bit of his old one so it looks like an induction kit says he feels a gain from it dont know much about cars so is he talkin pish or is this a cheap mod that works

   Taking the piss unless he has a big powered car already, cant c it making much of a diff with out exhaust aswell. at most it will have the tinest bit more pull but deff not more power.

   so has he attached the filter to the throttle body or the airbox?
   
   does he realise a cars engine works better with a combination of more COLD air and fuel
   
   after telling this fact, ask him where his cold air feed is
   
   then point out that it is an open filter thats sucking in hot air from the engine bay, then laugh because if anything, its ruining performance

   thats wat hes done removed the normail filter in the wee box bit and stuck that on the end and thats not ma mates

    the black pipe off the original? how the fuck did he attach it? hose clamp? gaffa tape lol?
    that black tubing thats original is a bad heat sink.

    lol will probably be ill fitting, and the original plastic absords a lot of heat. It will probably lose him power. Its probably jsut in his head that its faster. Tell him to get a proper enclosed induction kit.
