Fitting Larger GTI Rad to VTR

I know you would have to cut the lower coolant hose so its shorter and possibly need a new fan cowling but apart from that anything else? Upper coolant hose connects up ok?

    upper hose if ok
dont really need to cut the lower one, i didnt and had no trouble.
depends the later mk2 rad fan will fit, but the early ones will need the vts cowling

Sorted - pretty sure you would have to cut a few inches off the lower hose though

    i spose you should.....

pluse by cutting it i makes it harder to connect, becuase the end is slightly bigger than the rest of the hose

im runnin a 106 gti rad on mine mate, some you have to cut the bottom hose and some you dont depends what rad the car had origionaly but either way they fit

Why do you even want to do this? Im running a 16v lump on a VTR fan and rad setup. It runs exactly the same as any other VTS so it does the same job. Save your money mate.
