Help - What is a torque arm?

  1. #1
My saxo has recently failed its MOT due to an offside rear torque/reaction arm having excessive play in a pin/bearing.

Does anyone know what this means and how to go about getting the problem fixed? The chap in the garage mentioned replacing the whole rear axel which sounds expensive.

Any help at all in explaining the problem, what I need to do and ideas of cost would be great.

    Cheers

Bearings have worn on the rear axle and possibly even ruined the axle pins themselves. You can either can get rear axle refurbed or buy a second hand one.

I think they mean a trailing arm. Rear beam will need a refurb by the sounds of it.

    Cheers guys.

The mechanic mentioned getting a refurbished one which sounds loads cheaper than taking it to Citroen. Know any companies that sell refurbished parts or if its wise to buy something like this from ebay?
