Sportex back box

  1. #1
Hi. My standard back box on my mk2 vtr is rotting so its time for a sport box. Thinking of getting a 3" sportex but just want to know if it will be too loud on long motorway journeys.
I've done some searching but everyone has asked about the cat back and more but im just after the back box. Cheers for any help.

I have a sportex backbox. But i also have a decat and a sportex racing tube (removes silencer) I must admit it is quite loud on the motorways but i can't see it being too loud if its just the backbox with a standard silencer and cat in place.

Cheers. Might look into the Supersprint although i was after a bigger bore than the 2" you get on that. Thought 3" would be a decent compromise for style and sport sound.

yea i've just been looking around and come across Piper. They seem alright. Not bad priced etc. I like the fact that they are stainless. How would they fair on motorway drivin? Again just the back box.

After having sportex back boxes on both mine and the gf's saxo's

Basically if you have a centre silencer there OK for the motorway, but if you haven't there too loud and boom at motorway speed (give you a headache)
