dodgy back end>?!

hi all, this is going to be a good first thread!

Right.... what are the syptoms of the rear trailing arm bearings failing? my motor when you take it up to 60mph or above and start going round the lanes the back end feels like it is going to come round! or if i wiggle the steering wheel (not excessivly) the back end does not feel like it is attached to the car and wobbles all over the place, i know any car will do this if you do it hard enough but at the moment the thing is almost scary to drive. it cant be pushed at all through any lanes.

i tried to lower it last year (when the problem started) but the lower torsion bar was seized so i gave up put it back together and now it is faulty. however in the process of trying to lower it the trailing arm moved off the axle by about 5mm, it didnt come all the way but by hitting it back to where it should be could i have damaged the bearings?

help appreciated as im getting to the point of getting rid of it because i cant enjoy driving anymore!

    Thanks all Rick

its weird tho, because my rear wheels dont appear to be wobbling, well not that i know of anyway plus wouldnt i hear or feel the wheel rumbling? my steering weel does shake a bit when i get up to about 80 mph and does start to get worse the faster you go. is this becuase the wheel is "wobbling"?

    thanks for the help

what you need to do is get a decent carjack get your car up on axel stands and have a look check all the nuts and bolts are tight you can grab your back wheels and check them for play/movement there shouldnt be much play mine moves around a lot.... while your doin this have a look at where the trailarm connects to the arb/beam if its gone ull see it while you move the wheel there will be a lot of movement...if so refurb time....
