VTS turbo, HELP

  1. #1
Right, i am looking into the cost of PARTS only to fit a turbo to my VTS engine.

The engine will be totally standard apart from fitting a double headgasket for lower compression. I have not got a clue what sort of turbo i would need, i would have thought a pretty small one as it is on a small 16v engine.

What is my best bet, buy a standard turbo from a standard car, or buy an aftermarket custom turbo? I am not looking for the ultimate in performace, although i do want it to make a noticable difference! I know i need all the pipework and hoses for the intercooler etc etc but my main question at the mo is what sort of turbo would be the best to fit to a standard engine?

no need for a small turbo, bucky was running a t4.

a t2 may run out of puff higher up the revs, a t25 will be fine.

Cheaper to buy a second hand turbo from a donor car.
