Footwell lights problems

   Ok i got some white lights cold cathode whatever they are. I followed somebodys advice on how to wire them up and also looked all over the forums.
   
   My cig lighter has 2 wires coming out of it... a yellow wire and a grey wire.
   the neons have a red wire and a black wire.
   
   I tried all possibly combinations of connecting them up and still no sucsess. (and now ive got loads of scotchlocks on my wires so thers no room for any more mistakes)
   
   Can anybody please help?
   also is there any helpfull advice on how i could wire them up to the door switches that power the interior light? thanks

   hey thanks for reply. ive looked at that and it doesnt really help as ive only got 2 sig lighter wires and it doesnt work anyway no matter how i connect them :/

   Plus i have a grey wire and a yellow wire thats all

   they look good but they just wont work for me at all am i missing a wire or something?
   I think ive blown up the cig lighter because i smelt burning after a while :/
   
   Anybody have any ideas how to wire them to the door switchs connecting to the interior light?

   I think you might have blown a fuse mate, i did the first time i tryed wiring them in lol
   Grey is live iirc and i didnt use that earth i used one near the doorcard.
