DTA Fast Pro Series ECU Problem

   Hi lads Ive gotten some great advise on here before and now Im in need of some more. I got the above ECU for my 99 Saxo VTS 16v but when the tuner went to put it in, clearly written on the ECU is:
   
   "Warning this unit is not waterproof, protect from exposure to rain, spray, pressure washers etc"
   
   Now the obvious senario is to cut open the loom and fish all the ECU wires back into the cabin of the car and solder everything together inside in the cockpit.
   
   My question is this what other alternatives do I have other than stipping back the loom? How have any of ye guys got around this problem.
   
   Any info would be much appreciated.

   One alternative is to box it. You can get boxes designed to house electrical connections outdoors, from most DIY shops, Maplins is also a good bet. They are a water tight box with like a gel seal where you would be able to insert the loom through.
   
   Or just tie wrap a sandwich bag round it!

   Thanks man, Im really worried about the Ecu getting damp or wet just from general weather conditions. Do you think that the Water Tight box would be a real goer? Ive no experience of this and would really like to avoid stripping back the Wiring Loom but if anyone can show me a way they did it and havent had any problems with it Id be anxious to know.

   I've seen it done before, dont forget these things are to insulate 240v installations so theyre pretty water tight.

   Thanks man, thats definitely worth a look. Im living in Ireland so I might check out a few electrical wholesalers tomorrow and see what they have to suit.
