ive just had an intersting evening with a Gti 6 lump, super charged by Lynx performance, kicin 400 bhp... holy shit!

could i , regardless of how much work and time it wil take, i dont care... fit the lump from a GTI 6 in a saxo ? i have a rolling shell MK 1 flat arch in the garage atm going to waste. ... box, drive shafts, the lot obviously... if any one knows, would be a good project i think. and lookin for a majour project after the volvo 360 went tits up haha! and the 200 is becomming a wanker!

yeah gti-6 engine can fit with some work

who's supercharged 306 was it, anyone on the gti6 forum?

havnt a clue, heard about it thru a mate of mine, and was introduced for a quick blitz becasue i was arguing it wouldnt be as much fun as a tuned hayabusa * i ride bikes more than drive* hell, i was impressed ! been lookin all around the net now, the lynx perfomrance site is pretty good. i need a new buzz this seems like a good option.

when you say with some work... how much am i lookin at, days week?, custom mounts etc ? id have about 8-12 hours a day aside to do the work, pretty much 6 days a week. with fully qualified mechanics and frabricators if i needed their help. so doing it, isnt a problem... just like to be prepared.

i aint the best to be asking about fabrication etc lol i just know its been done before
an can leave the small saxo a little nose heavy

i'm not sure how many high boost supercharged guys there are on gti6 forum

well if its been done before, ill jsut have to do it better.
ive done simple converstion, VTS to 1.1, mi16 into a pug 106 which was a nightmare! then into a saxo but was simple with the mounts lol. so im wiling to give it a go and look into this more.

got a mate who seems to know everything about french cars, i think he will be reieveing a phone call tomorrow
    cheers chap, been good help.

ooh i will look into him then! it just seems like a serioulsy needed project! and possible an extremly awsome sleeper idea too .

if im not studying or working all i do is work on bikes and cars... got a majour 200sx project going on at the moment, which is becomming immense! but thats always going to look a fast car, and want that something unsuspected, y'kno ?

    500bhp

Definately different mounts. Suspension will need some work too if you want it to corner as well as it does now. Oh, and you'll want a 5 speed box if you have any intentions of heading even remotely round a right hand bend.
  10. #10
that is too rude! i will be happy with 300 horses!
id love to see that on a drag strip!

low boost supercharge kit - 250bhp bought an fitted by lynx is about 4.5k i think lol

I had a hand in fitting one. was a nightmare, had to cut all the inner wings to get the gearbox a fair bit of welding was required and then we couldnt steer its possible but its not a great conversion.
the weight was far too much for the stripped out saxo. handled like a bag of shit. fast-ish in a straight line but thats about it

its a very tight fit with a gti-6 into a saxo, but will there be room for the charger and the pipes ect
  14. #14
its been done before, and wasnt an easy job.

As stated you really want a 5 speed box, and the space is so minimal you stand a high chance of not having space for a charger aswell.

one thing ive never done, is put an engine in the back... ive seen the saxo with the honda k20 lump in the boot... im guessing its same princaple of mouting it at the front, but extend throttle cable etc to the front of the car...

whats the best conversion people on have done?
  16. #16
there was that saxo on ebay recently with a 6 engine in the front and another in the back looked wank mind

p.s will be other much better transplants than that lol

Twas a pug performance car the saxo with twin gti-6 engines.

The bodykit isnt to anyones taste but the kit was made several years ago when that was the scene.

    Fuel tank relocated etc...

Zcars do the saxo kit now.

For that much money you can make your saxo engine 400 bhp and will skip the shitty conversion

Engine mounts are the same as the mi16 you put in the 106!
