seen a few daft vids and such of ppl using small compressor units rigged up in a supercharger type manner to boost their cars a fair few of which have been vts' actually , anyone seen anything like this before? just a mad random thought really, seems sound in the idea,

i no a chap who made a few of them and put them on his subru and he sed it made a diference to the performance not alot but ya cud feel it, but they am made from sum sort of tubeing and a fan sumthing like that lol (sorry about the spelling) lol

Yeah im clearly a brainless idiot, who has built everything from 4 stroke race engines for autograss to 2 stroke bike engines, custom exhaust systems, 1 off intake manifolds to fit 40's onto a mk2 fiesta! i spend alot of time working on rally car's with friends, things like RWD 205 gti's(sequential box), rwd mk3 escort's (200bhp pinto) and the daddy.. the escort cosworth, 8 injector setup,anitlag, water injetion, 7 speed R&D sequential box,pectel managment etc

im not the one who's asking about a belt driven compressor...

yep theres a few, Zcars now do a kit so its RWD/mid engined using the honda powerplant.

Also someone on here was building one but not seen anything of it.

theres also a few 4x4 cossie 106s

tbh, sure that Trevor guy had said before that he is a little older than most on here, so why would he not have helped build that little lot. I, for one, would quite like to see pics of them all. Some of them sound very interesting, particularly the cosworth

i seriously doubt im older than most on here.. its just i have grown up around cars and bikes... and i didnt waste every penny i had shagging half the town or pissing money against the wall! never had lots of money so had to learn to fix things myself..

Yeah, i will do when i get the camera charged and get some good ones! finished mounting the corsa power steering in the escort tonight and its bloody brilliant! The car needs a proper tidy up and respray but that dosent make you go any faster.

Took a couple with my phone while i was out but there rubbish quality! will get them uploaded in a minute.

edit: they are terrible! only a few you can make out but will upload them anaway!

Some of the best cars I have seen have have been built at home in peoples sheds. Got several round here that have never had a 'professional' touch them, including several bike engined mini's, a classic mini with a Type R lump, Vauxhall Redtop powered mini and a big power RS Turbo, all of which have been/are being built on mates drives or in lockups on tight budgets

corsa powersteering mounted.. wiring needs reworked for heavier cable.

gearbox..emm well i can be arsed to explain it but it made a mess of its self so its out on the bench for rebuilding!

A couple of the cossie that i took a while ago actually and never realised i had!

the rest you cant actually see anaything in due to my crap phone/shakey hand! just thought id show some to prove im not talking through my arse

nice work with the corsa steering column... was it easy enough to wire up? it looks a good space saving mod.

at work im currently helping finish off a corsa vxr powered westfield. it will go like a rocket once in production.

yeah dead easy to wire in, you get a box with adjustable settings on it... to replace the fact its been removed from the corsa ecu which i believe control's its sensitivty with speed.

Can get one for about £25-30 from most rally shops and i believe there on ebay at the minute. guy who bought the rack got it out of an 07 (i think) for £70 the lucky bugger!

there are different types of chargers that are belt driven. you hve rotrex/jackson/vortex etc. the most popular is rotrex as its new technology and is VERY efficient with more or less no disadvantages.
