Driveshaft Query VTS Please

Sorry If I have missed it somewhere...

But are Mark 1 VTS driveshafts the same as Mark 2 VTS driveshafts.

I certain website only lists Saxo shafts to 1999 and since my model is 2001 I was curious.

    Many Thanks
    Gary

think it can depend on what day the car was made on tbh. as there seem to be several different shafts for vts's. you will need look at the part where it sits up to the wheel bearing. think there is a thread on hear about it

    Oh right.

    Inconclusive then eh.

I'll get some pictures of my shafts and ask for more help if its unclear.

i got a recon one from local motor factors and it was the right one but they did say to check the ends to make sure they the same as said above. as for the mk1 mk2 thing i wouldnt of thought there would be a difference maybe try somewhere else as the mk2 came out late 2000 not 1999

Mk2's had the tapered style driveshafts, the Mk1's had the flat cut type. Fitting wrong driveshafts will cause serious wheel bearing wear.

    Sorry for the rubbish pic.

My mk1 shafts were flat, that was a early 1999 model, and my mk2 vts were tapered and that was a early 2001 model! so yes they are different, however from what i was reading about them months ago they stopped making them flat after 1999.
