Saxo: blue, blue or blue...?

  1. #1
Hi there everyone. First (of loads I suspect) post, so I thought I'd go with a question.

Got a 52 plate 'blue' VTR and as I'm new to actually doing these modifying shenanigans instead of reading about them each month, I want to start with something relatively simple - ie spray painting some new mirrors the same shade of blue as the rest of my car.

Thing is - when i went in to Halfords to buy some spray, there were 3 shades of blue! Anybody got an idea where I can find out what shade it is. The booklet in Halfords says it is stated somewhere in the boot or on the door edges somewhere.

    But not on mine though.

Any advice would be very greatly received!

open your drivers door, where the wires there should be a lil sticker it should have the code on there, it will start with a few letters

This thread calls for some pics mate!!

You'll likely have a paint code on the passenger side suspension mount under the bonnet.

Theres a very light Icelandic grey (which looks like sky blue), then Poseidon blue which is the most common medium shade of blue, then theres a darker navy colour of blue.

As far as I'm aware anyway

Yes pictures would be very helpful.

my digital camera is playing up at the mo, so these pics borrowed (ahem) off autotrader are probably the best examples of the shade of blue.

apparently halfords' blues for saxos are: poseidon, mauritius and admiral. sounds like from what people are saying that it is poseidon blue. will check those codes tomorrow in the 'sunshine'(?) and let you know...

Not quite sure how to make the pics show up - they work when I'm at home but they are saved on my comp so that'd be why. Don't show up when I'm at work though. Grrr.

That is the exact same blue (hope I'm not causing any offence if you've spends loads on an expensive re-spray!) so thanks kindly. Means I can colour code some stuff now hurrah!

PS Those are indeed top notch wheels matey

Hey - where'd you get a photo of my car from?!

    I wish...!

The top one of the 3 is the same shade as mine, which i think is poseidon. Bring on the spray paint!

uve got it easy with the blue, ive got a yellow saxo (not the orangy colour but proper yellow) the paintcode under the bonnet sez sumfin like ETBT or sumfin similar, theres so many yellows in halfords and the codes r all numbers

when i phoned citroen they said to check the chasis number in the drivers side door, and it was right under it, that also started with ETBT like willsy mentioned.

Just on topic, is the spray that halfords sell better/worse that the stuff citroen sell? I've found loads of the stuff all at different prices, just made me wonder..
