Easy enough to fit my own supersprint system?

  1. #1
    Now then,

My full supersprint race exhaust has just arrived and im wondering if it will be easy enough for me to go fit myself? Will I be able to use the old connection coming off the downpipe? Gasket? God knows what the parts called tbh lol.

    Cheers,

Yes its easy enough to do your self

There sould be a gasket thingy (that goes between the exhaust and down pipe) that comes with the exhaust

You can still use the same bolts that attached the pipe to the downpipe (unles they are rotted, if not buy new ones, the fire gasket ? should be ok to use, its easy to fit

    2 spring bolts i imagine
1 rubber mount holding the exhaust up
2 rubbers for the back box

Once done do the same process to put it back on

il give it a fingertips difficulty of 1/10.

Just get the car jacked up with some old wheels or somethin under it just incase it falls off but apart from that its only about 4/6 bolts that would need undoing and tightening! Really easy mate

    Cheers lads,

Ive tapped my mate up to use his ramps in his garage tommorow night, ordered new clamp and a cone gasket thing today so they will be at garage in morning, havent opened all the bubble wrap yet so I ordered one just incase its not in there with it.

This is the 1st start to my project so might start a thread soon, but im lacking in the funding department, got my 60mm springs, just waiting for a friend to fit them and then lower the torsion bar too.

Seriously thinking about whitewalling my tires too, just with the standard vtr alloys on, done it on pc and looks sick! Anyone seen any saxos with white walls?

need a new bigger gasket for a supersprint do you not?
apart from that an exhaust is a piece of piss to fit, i dit it on my drive with a jack and an axel stand lol

Mebbe worth a new fitting kit as some flanges need reducers which are usually welded into the old exhaust. other than that it's 2 bolts and a couple of hangers, then just a case of playing with the hangers to get it sitting right

Off to do it a bit later tonight, havent got myself a fitting kit but Im sure Ill find what I need in the garage.

Can anyone with a supersprint 2" exhaust tell me how it should sit as I will need to play with the hangers anyway coz Ive bent em to fit my rewelded old exhaust on anyway.

Should it be pointing up for a decent look? lol

Got my exhaust on last night and it sounds real good, louder than i thought it would be though if im honest, pig magnet now lol. I didnt have any problems what so ever, just had to knock tho odd bit of rust off before i connected the new onel. I just used a new cone at the front and a new clamp at the back. Sorted!

Ill be putting a video up as best i can within next few days, going to let it wear in a bit first. Then i will start my progress thread i recon....

    Well recommend supersprint system
