Dont know exactly, but assume it would be a case of removing the lock, then welding a metal plate to the back of it, and fillering on top of this, until smooth, then a respray.

i did this before my smooth boot didnt work filer kept cracking

you would also need to get a solenoid popper for the boot, also try buying a metal plate and get it welded onto the boot were the lock and letters for the name of the car, then get it smoothed oit and respray

    job done, theoretically

    suppose that might work yes

Best bet would be to plastic weld a piece into the hole afetr you take the lock out, and them fibreglass over it to smooth it in. Then use filler to smooth any imperfections.

You cant use metal because the boot handle is made of plastic. And don't just se filler as it will crack with the vibrations everytime you close the boot

yes u can leave the lock in place and use the popper just take the solenoid off for the key locking/ central locking and replace it with a remote solenoid, or take the handle of the boot and replace it with the one from ur oringinal boot, im guessing its my old boot so will need respraying anyway, wont it?

Ive de locked my boot but didnt use a popper, I used a CDL motor wired to a timer relay, alot safer than a solonoid.

iv done mine to mate not that hard but its all about the finish if you dont get the finish rite its shit lol stright up lol, but i took the boot lock out of mine i got a metla plate bolted it through the holes what was left of the number plate and started fillering it but use fiber glass to get most of it dun then once your happy skim over it with sum easy sand filler and it will do the job mate, mine has got a poper boot on it and does the job got a button up front press it and it opens
