Are the sensors on the 106 gti engine different to those of a vts engine? If i was to plug a vts loom onto the gti engine would this work or are they totally different?

#2^^^ that's what I have done for my engine conversion - done over 10k miles on it with no problems.
-
#3Yes mate as long as its the same year engine, for the loom etc..
I bought a Gti engine for my old vts and the loom from mine connected straight in nee problems -
#4Sorry this may sounds stupid but do i need a loom and engine from the same year or does the engine loom and car have to be the same year?
-
#5just the engine loom has to be the same plug type
ive put a t reg loom on a 51 plate engine in a r reg car on my 106 (single plug loom on a 3 plug engine)
its a vts motor on a gti loom in a gti -
#6Thanks alex! loom is the last bit i need to do the conversion!

#7im not sure if mine will run yet (as its not been tried) but in theory and looking at it i think it will do the trick
usually going to need to change a few sensors and i had to swap the injector looms about
other than that it wasnt too bad to do -
#8Engine is from my R reg gti if that helps folks.

#9It looks like its gonna be a bit of trial and error for me then tbh! Ill lay it all out and compare it while the enigne is out im thinking!
