have read that a few people on here have replaces stock inlet manifold for that off a 106 rallye. what sort of work would be needed as i have a friend that has 2. i kno thell be a fair bit of spannering, but was wndering if the ECU needs reprograming to the new sensors. and can you use s1 inlets??? cheers

#2hi mate
its not too bad if you sort of have an idea of what your doing lol, but theres a sticky guide about this heres the link have a butchers at that http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=178273
but it should run fine with ecu some have said there car idles at like 3krpm, but that sometimes turns out to be a sensor in the wrong place lol but obviously it owuld benifit alot from an remap but then if your doing that you may aswell stick a cam in while your there lol
and oh yer you can only use the s1 inlet on the 90bhp engines as the port spacing is different on the 98bhp engines
but its probably a good days work though i would have though mate
hope that helps1 user thanked this post: -
#3can fit these bad bois in half our....
alot of the time peoples tend to fail, due to a shit ICV, im thinking about doing it again, and buy a brand new ICV to help it idle.
i did manage to bodge the idle, but id have to keep my foot on the throttle on cold start so that the car didnt stall...also on normal start up's youd have to dap the throttle.
also id double maybe triple up on the inlet gasket's.
another think id run the standard airbox to...
worth doing if it can be set up correctly and camming with a remap at a later date, torque was incresed loads and sounded mint. -
#4cam totally agree, fitment is a piece of piss, its gettin it runing lol, i had a few probs but sorted int he end, much more power and sound really is that good, cant wait to get my remap done to see the real power from it and my ph3

#5will these increase alot of bhp?
-
#6erm not a huge amount, you could probs get up to 3 or 4bhp with a push i would have thought
but its mostly throttle response you get mate, its gives you thats slight better response as you put your foot down, and is definatly very noticable
also the induction sound is increased with using one of these too, since its pretty much 3x the size of a standard vtr inlet manifold
