Okay like most people I want to make my VTR alot more faster down to power, thinking of stripping the back seats out and just carpet lining the boot and back seats area. What else can i do with a budget of around 800 to make it powerfuller, already have a stainless steel full system except manifold
was going to rip me off for manifold I got the exhaust from a place near me called top gear custom built, Looking to lower that car and buy some decent black alloys aswel was wondering what is the nicest looking alloys to get and how much to drop the car by also, Some nice hints welcome 800 for anything other than the alloys I can try and get some more money for them
What to do?

#2ive dropped mine 80mm back 60mm front , performacewise go 4 an enclosed induction kit (raceland or bmc best) and go 4 a 4 branch manifold , alloys search 4 topgear alloys they do cheap wheel and tyre packages ive always liked speedline comp 2 or oz superleggra have a good look about as there are so many about
-
#3Thats my main problem there are too many out there I dont want to rush it pick something terrable and look like a spoon driving around
-
#4if u got any doubts get ur standard alloys sprayed they will alway go withe car and there b different ive sprayed mine black and it makes the car stand out
-
#5The previous owner wasnt that good of a driver in this car the alloys are scuffed and think they tried cleaning them due to the fact they look like someone took pure acid to them, is it easy to get them repaired or is it a case of buying some more decent ones
-
#6it would be easy 2 refurb em urself or if u got the money u can buy a set 4 around 80 quid
-
#7drop a vts lump in
or manifold, induction, decat, exhaust, cams and remap. strip it out, lower between 60-40mm for performance and handling

#8Time you had 16v power dude............

#9How much would I be talking for this job though, I'm sure alot of people have asked this but I was just thinking of buying a new car LOL, it was either do something to my existing car or get a new one, if its going to cost me alot to get a new engine in might aswel save extra for the new car

#10Right, hers what you could do.
> Enclosed induction kit ( try the Simota on kam racing )
> manifold ( supersprint and janspeed are quite cheap )
> decat
Then you should focus on the suspension.
Out of your £800, the above will cost around £350, so you could get the Bilstein group N suspension. Then if you have any change you could get a strut brace or polybushes.
With that you will be a lot faster, its not all about outline power figures. You need to be able to carry the speed through the corners

#11Get some light alloys, pro race 1.2's or something. Can get them 2nd hand for a good price.
People always say get an enclosed i have only ever experienced raceland and tbh, i dont rate it. I have a green cotton on at the mo with no enclosure and its so much more bitey and better revving.
You could also look at getting a cam for it but that may take up alot of your budget.
If you want to drop it, i would go down 50. Im down 50 and love it, sits really nicely -
#12800 should get you everything you need for an engine conversion, my friend just converted his VTR into a VTS and said its the best decision hes made in ages! hes got it lowered 50 front and back, hes guna be getting it cammed next i think!
