vts engine removal info needed!

   right im wanting to take out a vts engine so what are my options? basically i dont have a engine hoist so thats out the question and dont think id be able to jack the car high enough to pull it under! sooo questions as follows
   
   actually how heavy is the engine?
   if i was to remove the engine down to past the cams which needs doing anyway, plus gearbox will this make it liftable?
   
   what needs to be disconnected when removing in total? can i just take ecu with it when it comes out, and is there anythig i need to do basically a run down
   
   the ecu shouldnt lock out should it?

   took mine out without a crane, there heavy but with helpfrom mates u can do it, i took wiring ecu and ignition barrel out, incase its going into a none vts.

   its basically coming out then going back in so what needs to be disconnected? i just dont want to find ive locked the ecu out or summit
   
   gear linkages
   exhaust
   pedal cables
   ???
   
   im sure we have a small chain hoist in the garage, will some wooden floor beams be sufficient to hold it?
   
   anythin to turn off or do before taking out and refitting?

   unplug the multiplug, keep the loom on the engine.
   
   gear linkages, throttle cable, fuel lines all need to be unplugged/removed. clutch cable pop off the box aswell

   i kinda wanted to spend some time with the engine out which ruins the idea of gettin one for a weekend as that turns to 2

    easy to lift out and thats not jacked up either, disconnet all mounts but the gearbox side one, put something under the engine like a spare wheel. twist the engine n box to side then undo the box bolts onto the engine, lift engine out.. then undo gearbox then take that out.
    
    ive timed my self doing this and i did it in 40 minutes.

    rent a crane dude.
    
    joesnow rented one at £15 a day.
    the head isnt heavy,
    Bottom end is, especially if the gearbox is still attached.

    not sure yet mate i just basically want it out so i can clean it up and sort a couple of leaks and refurb the engine bay on the car then its going back in, ill let you know by pm when im ready and see if your intrested! thanks mate
