Yeah you can take off the door card material. if you paint it you wont get a really good result But you can re-trim it in fabric or leather.
Underneath is just some foamy, padding stuff.

I wanted to know this too. So is it hard to retrim it?

Well it depends what you want to re-trim it in, if you re-trim in fabric its not hard, but if you go to re-trim leather its 10 times harder.

If you have a stretchy fabric that you can mould round the contours of the doorcard then its a doddle.

Thers an eBay shop called "Fabricaz" for best materials. IIRC they have a stretch leather that would cover the cards easy enough.

I managed to do mine using their thick textured leather and still done the whole card in one piece so no nasty sewing!

Thanks alot. Will have to have a look. Is there any guides kicking about? Do i just glue the material on?

Sorry for the post hijack badass.

Don't know about guides. I just used some fabric spray glue for it.

if you take off the door card and turn it over, you will see lots of plastic rivets on the back which have been melted on the end to stop them coming out. you will need to drill them out to separate the inner and outer part of the door card. once you have done this you can retrim them in any material you like using a suitable glue to hold the material in place. trim off any excess material then glue the outer and inner parts of the door card back together. its quite simple. just make sure you glue them back together very well otherwise they will come apart.

Dont think i did a guide when doing mine but there is one in premium section

It is easy to seperate just have to think ahead of what your doing really, i used a dremel with mine worked really well, hardest bit is retrimming, depends on the material though, use a decent glue like contact adhesive, the most likely part the material will pull away from is around the armrest area as it has to be pulled really tight around there

id suggest getting some 3/4 way stretch material

the foam just wire brush it off with a drill

melt plastice like tie wraps back on whilst its clamped then wait till its totally cooled down before removing clamps to move onto next heatstake (rivet)
