Important! : Need help with front break caliper

  1. #1
    Hi there,
Can anyone tell me what the plate does behind the caliper where the two bolts connect, as when my dad tried to change the break pads he somehow managed to snap the plate, would it affect the car and is it important to change it? Thanks.

if its the plate im thinking off yes its important, you wont have anyway of connecting the caliper to the car!

I know the plate you are talking about, I'm not sure what it's purpose is other than acting like a double washer for the two bolts and would be fairly sure that you would be ok without it. There is also a small hole at one end of the plate which I would guess that it has a someing attached to it on different models but nothing on my son's 1.1 desire.
