Re-circulating and atmospheric dumpvalves..

   I know I should ask this on a cupra forum but thought might as well try here..
   
   Basically can you fit an atmoshperic dumpvalve to the 1.8T 20V Ibiza Cupra engine? Ive heard theres complications. Does it alter performance?
   Thinking about getting one for next car and would love it to have a proper "sneeze" lol.

   you can fit one, but a friend of mine was telling me its something to do with the turbos ability to re spool? correct me if im wrong i dont know seats

   On the standard turbo on those cars, i believe your supposed to use re-circulating. Might be worth giving bailey motorsport a call on 01763 246660, they'll tell you the exact one you can use.

   atmospheric dump valves cause your motor to overfuel.
   The standard recirculating valve recirculates the excess boost back into the inlet tract after the air flow meter so the engine recieves the same amount of air it has already sensed goin thru the air flow meter keeping the air/fuel ratio correct. An atmospheric valve just 'dumps' the excess boost into the air so the engine actualy recieves less air than i thinks, causing an overfuel. Not good.
   
   atmospheric valves sound good yeah, but not the best for your engine. If i were you i'd leave the standard one on to bo honest.
   
   UNLESS, your engine calulates the air intake via a MAP sensor, and it shouldnt effect the fueling.

   On the Cupras etc or cars with that engine an atmospheric d/v i have heard blows the maff/map sensors all the time..... most people i know run a recirc d/v instead

   fit a re-circ, a forge 007p. atmo ones will register as a boost leak and nakeres the map sensor and the turbo, there is plenty on seat cupra.net mate
