Tyre Streaching

  1. #1
    Hi,

I am getting 15x7 alloys. The standard tyres they speficy are 195/50/15. I know you should have 195/45/15 so it doesnt catch on the arches as much e.c.t.

Whats a size for tyre for a decent streach.
185/50/15 - Is that too exterme?

Also what kind of tyres should I been looking to buy? Also pictures would help. Thanks.

    185 wont be extreme tbh
ive seen 165/50/15s and thats pretty mad

    personally id go about 175
id all depends how low you are for catching

ive not seen many of the different makes the only ones are proxy t1s and potenzas and tbh neither of them were stretched massively

i run 165/45/15 on a 7.5 rim its a lovely stretch but hard size to gei think r federal is theonly option. nankan do a 175/45 but it doesnt stretch that great thats on my 8' rim.

id say go for bridgestones 165/50 fit spaccers to make the wheels sit flush with the arch

    I agree. 165/50/15 Bridgestones.

what u wanting to stretch them for? Ye u've got coilovers, so can go low! but 7" wheels depending on the offset, wont be poked without spacers so ur only ever gonna get them tucked so no real need for stretched tyres.
If u get spacers and can get a little poke then get a small stetch to help with the stance. As said 185's u wouldn't really notice 165/50 is somewhere about right prob, if u get the right et wheels and the right spacers. Dont just stretch tyres for scene points as that an epic fail fella!

stretched tyres will mean he can get full lock and not rub

i was down 60mm front on 15x7" 195/45 tyres and had no prob on full lock, think ull need to be at about 70mm before the fronts start to tuck slightly, just personal opnion, dont think they'll be needed. However I do know u seem to know a fair bit on suspension setups so I may be corrected!

hes not specified how low he is though
ive seen saxos down to around 100 all round

    at that you get issues
rossi is down about 70 iirc and 195/45s rub at lock
lees down 100 and with 165/50/15s on 6jwheels hes ok
jes got no poke out the arch atm either
