You can get a DeVilbiss for less than £100. There are different models and the the higher spec'd ones (e.g. GTI PRO) they do obviously sell for more.

I would also get a gravity fed one if I was you.

What will you be using it for? solvent base coat, water base coat, primer, clear, direct gloss? 1 pack paints or two pack?

Im not really sure, probably a bit of everything. My MGB needs touch ups and that uses cellulose, what type of paint do modern cars have? And theres always something that needs to be primered

I think some places can still get cellulose, but now we use water based base coats and a two pack compliant clear. If its straight colour you can get two pack direct gloss. If you want to use the gun for everything i would go for a devilbiss FLG with a 1.3/1.4 set-up. This is what i use at home, and i use mine for everything but obviously you will need to move the fluid needle back and forth when painting different paints to suit. But at work i use devilbiss GTI's, one for each type paint(costs alot to buy a few though) and i also use a digital sata but cant get on with it so will be selling it soon.

I got decent results from a Clarke one, but that was spraying two-pack. Took me a while to set it up, but once it was how I wanted it the finish was good enough.
